Re: Why haven't Goodacre, Gathercole, and I accepted Martijn's claims?

My previous post was a response to gryan: Re: Which came first? gMatt or gThomas? The case of the Saying 57 http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/t ... mas57.html# With my working hypothesis of a late gMatt, my guess is that we see a process of editorial expansion: Mark's version is oldest, then cam...

Re: Why haven't Goodacre, Gathercole, and I accepted Martijn's claims?

Mark's gospel: 70-71Mk: late 70 to early 71, probably Corinth http://historical-jesus.info/appd.html (start at section G) Matthew's gospel: 81 to 93, a city in Syria, probably Antioch http://historical-jesus.info/appd.html then find on "For the dating of Matthew's gospel" Thomas' gospel: a...

1) His name is Jesus (Ro 5:15 "the one man Jesus Christ", 2 Cor 8:9, etc). 2) He was a Jew (said to be descendant of Abraham (Gal 3:16), Israelites (Ro 9:4-5), Jesse (Ro 15:12) & David (Ro 1:3)). 3) He was a minister/servant to (only) Jews (Ro 15:8). 4) He was of no reputation and humb...

4) Earl Doherty and Richard Carrier have made much of the role of the "Martyrdom and Ascension of Isaiah" in their reconstructions of Christian origins. See http://historical-jesus.info/100.html Another look at the 'Ascension of Isaiah', the "gospel" of Dr. Carrier in OHJ Cordia...

Re: Why haven't Goodacre, Gathercole, and I accepted Martijn's claims?

to mlinssen, There is a good reason why you have very little positive response advocating gospel of Thomas was the first gospel, despite all the work you put in order to make that point: You are wrong (sorry to be so blunt) http://historical-jesus.info/thomas.html Dare to read it? The gospel of Thom...

Re: Why has Martijn not been thanked for his research by Goodacre, Gathercole, and me?

The fact that Zizanion only appears in a very Matthean parable (see Mat 13:30) points to "Matthew" got Zizanion (for weeds) from some ancient writing.

Cordially, Bernard

Re: Why has Martijn not been thanked for his research by Goodacre, Gathercole, and me?

Will you tell me where Matthew got it from when I tell you where Thomas got it from? I just have to ask, given the fact that I have given you all of this material, in all its forms, and you have done nothing but circumvent it in every possible way. Which truly surprises me So please Ken, when I pro...

to mlissen, You wrote: Irenaeus - Adv. haer. III 11,8 ... The order is evident and clear. Irenaeus did not mean to issue an order. He simply started by gJohn, because mainly of the first segment, it was the "most complete", corresponding to beliefs of Gentile Christians then. You wrote: I ...

Re: Preparation for My Interview (if anyone thinks I am missing something)

5. the idea of the correctness of four gospels or these four gospels appears to have been Irenaeus's. There is no mention of a gospel of Luke or John before him. Aristides of Athens, Basilides (a Christian gnostic) and a Valentinian gnostic mentioned John's gospel before Irenaeus' times. The author...
