Do you have a source for this? I didn't find one by Googling. And if it was forged in the Middle Ages, which seems to be the common consensus, the forger must have been one wrinkly, ancient guy.hjalti wrote:an artist apparently admitted forging it.

Re: New Research Regarding the Shroud of Turin
I would like to see the Vatican allow a sample that could not possibly be a patch job to be tested. I do wonder, though, why a Medieval artist would add such details as the nails being driven in twice or a dislocated shoulder?

New Research Regarding the Shroud of Turin
http://vaticaninsider.lastampa.it/en/world-news/detail/articolo/sindone-shroud-sudario-33948/ What do those here think about the new findings that have come to light? Why would such details as have been found on the Shroud possibly be included were it a Middle Age forgery? I'm open-minded about the ...

Re: i dont understand what is going on in the trinity
I did not mean it to be derogatory towards either you or Mormons. I just wanted to clarify if that matched your beliefs, since what you wrote describes the Mormon belief about God.

Re: i dont understand what is going on in the trinity
So you have a view of God like the Mormons do? That is, three gods in perfect unity?

You have yet to demonstrate that the gospels are eyewitness accounts. The synoptics don't even claim to be.

Re: Luke's sources
Mental, try rereading Luke 1:1-4. If Luke was an eyewitness, why would he need to get his information through research and other eyewitnesses? It doesn't make sense.

Re: Any other English translations of Josephus
The original texts of the gospels are not extant, yet you still think they're reliable. Just because we haven't found the original manuscript doesn't mean it isn't reliable. We don't have the original manuscripts for the entire Bible, and many of the texts we have are from centuries after the origin...

Re: Luke's sources
Mental, please note that I was saying that Luke was not an eyewitness, not that he was not reliable. He says he used eyewitnesses and did research, meaning that he was not himself an eyewitness, but that he based his gospel off of the eyewitness accounts. It isn't the same thing. But let's hear how ...

Re: Genesis 1 & 2
How about what you thought about Luke being a primary source? I quoted the relevant verses from Luke that demonstrated otherwise. You have yet to acknowledge that, and still act like it never happened.
