Logically, he couldn't have "triggered the beginning of Christianity" if he was dead, via execution by crucifixion, or even after an alleged 'Ascension'.
Yes, right. I should have said OTHERS started Christianities after his execution.

I think the question about Aretas IV being a client king or not (and if yes, in which degree) is not relevant to the case I made. From a client king or not, any attack on a Roman province or a client kingdom would most often called for retaliation by the Romans.
