Re: Is Jesus the descendant of David in Mark?

Okay Many thanks for your well argumented discussion Something you cannot refute or address. Because authors used fiction and rhetorical prose does not mean the temple or Jerusalem or Pilate or Caiaphas or the political climate of oppression, or Jesus is also a fictional character. Your dismissal a...

Jesus in Christian writings was propaganda fabricated in response to the fall of the Jewish Temple c70 CE.

They sold Jesus as deity and messiah
They sold the living Emperor as son of god. Better find a better excuse with more credibility. That helps Jesus historicity, not hurting it at all.

Re: Why Are Historicists So Certain That Jesus Existed?

A celestial angel ended up becoming fully humanised (ie. personified; reified as a human; anthropomorphized). Unsubstantiated rhetoric. That's not what the text posit. The text posits in context, A Galilean who was crucified under Pilate and Caiaphas at the temple, all historical times places and p...

Re: Is Jesus the descendant of David in Mark?

My only point was that I think GMark is with regard to the relationship between Jesus and David not about what Jesus is (possibly a "son of David"), but about how we should see Jesus (as the "Lord"). I think Mark would say: Perhaps Jesus was a descendant of David , but that plays absolutely no role...
