Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
Gilius didn't seem too interested in the probability exercise. Unfortunately without this exercise although some people may wonder whether there is underlying copying and/or editing going on between these two texts, they will never be really certain. Attach a verifiable probabilistic assessment to ...

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
What about the possibility that one late author simply copied an earlier author? Or are you saying that the analysis show that this is impossible, because the one author had to have edited both books? If you can think along those lines then you are already halfway to solving the conundrum left to u...

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
Firstly I don't mean to belittle your own research but the question was does Atwill use this method, or a related method. Secondly your claims if true would be quite controversial. I would be interested in hearing your ideas and asking questions. For example, is your database of texts in English or...

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
Remember: both Jesus and Titus began their ministry and campaign, respectively, at the Sea of Galilee (named "lake of gennesaret" in both books) after being sent by their father (Vespasian was also deified as a god for the Imperial Cult like Julius Caesar) before travelling through the Gal...

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
There's at least 4 ways of proving the invention of Christianity besides Titus' parallel system. One method involves looking at the alignment of dates with the book of Daniel; another at the blunders. There's another parallel system adopted by Titus' brother Domitian using 3 books instead of 2 with ...

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
Let's say a few isolated strands of your DNA are found at a crime scene: GTAC .. CAGT That's not enough to convict you of the crime. However, should a whole "sequence" of matching 4 letter strands be found then that is enough to put you in the electric chair! And that is why the parallel s...

Re: The Best Case Against Jesus
Most of the things constructed for Jesus as a composite character in the New Testament were based on Titus' campaign in AD 70, including the Crucifixion:

Re: Parallelomania (parallels between OT/NT & other traditio
The information gleaned is that Titus is the Son of Man who will come with the Roman army (eagles, trumpets) to crush the Jews and raze the temple - foreseen by a prophet (Jesus) whose ministry took place exactly 40 years before Titus' campaign (and they both travelled the same itinerary): http://s2...
