Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
Moreover, taking up Paul's references to "my gospel" in Galatians, Marcion concluded that he used one written gospel" [Steven Wilson, Related Strangers p. 171] "What of his insistence that there was only one true Gospel, the book which Paul referred to as 'my gospel'? Marcion was...

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
According to early church writers Marcion thought that the expression “τὸ εὐαγγέλιόν μου” in Romans (16:25) was a straightforward reference to a literary work: that is to say, Paul refers here to Luke's gospel. Beginning with Harnack, scholars have pointed out that for Marcion's purpose, the Gospel...

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
I would like it if the Beginning of the Gospel of Christ Jesus text had al kinds of material that was omitted from the other gospel texts. 'The spirit is willing, but the evidence is weak.' Help my unbelief here. Does the idea that there was this kind of material in it have anything going for it? Ma...

Origen, the Alexandrian Tradition and Secret Mark
Romans 16:25 + Mark 1:1 "Then the Jew standing by him said to the people who believed that yesterday, and the day before, and whenever we were punishing this man while he was shepherding you, you turned away from the ancestral law, knowing nothing precise in what he said, as we demonstrated. Bu...

I could post all of them but I don't want to distract from Peter's point. Bye.

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
Examples of Origen's cryptic referencing of Secret Mark. There are dozens more like this. It's always Romans 2:19 or 16:25 + Mark 1:1 over and over again: Now, certainly the introduction to Christianity is through the Mosaic worship and the prophetic writings; and after the introduction, it is in th...

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
We just have to stop addressing this idiotic point of view. Like trying to plug into a plug. It doesn't work. It can't work. No more discussions of Luke alongside Marcion. There is no point.

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
What is the point of discussing Luke in relation to Marcion? What is the value in this? They didn't think Luke wrote the gospel. They attributed that to Paul THE apostle.

The frequency with which he brings up Romans 2:19 and 16:25 he references Mark 1:1 and the Marcionites.

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
I forgot to corroborate Romans 2:16 with Mark 1:1. I can do that too. The Marcionites held that there was only one evangelist, only one apostle. This is a Samaritan formulation of the word apostle and is based on the authority of Moses. Moses was the apostle of God. There are no other apostles besid...
