Re: Is 'called Christ' in Ant 20:200 a Christian gloss just as 'born by woman' is a Catholic gloss in Gal 4:4?

Don't see any broad mentioned: But when the fulness of time was come, God sent forth His Son"138 ----the God, of course, who is the Lord of that very succession of times which constitutes an age; who also ordained, as "signs" of time, suns and moons and constellations and stars; who f...

Re: Greek Monks Who Thought the Letter to Theodore was in the Mar Saba Monastery Before Morton Smith Arrives

He clearly told Seraphim what he discovered the day he discovered it. "Old friend." You would share your discovery with an old friend. He mentions him again on page 30 but I can't read what he says. Is it worth buying again for $16? No one has this book? UPDATE. It's a photo taken by Morto...

Re: Greek Monks Who Thought the Letter to Theodore was in the Mar Saba Monastery Before Morton Smith Arrives

In a snipit view from Google Books I see Seraphim was peripherally involved with Smith while he ordered books: "Never revisit a place that fascinated you when you were young - you discover not only its changes, but your own. Much at Jerusalem, of course, was the same. Father Kyriakos was genial...

They will imagine whatever makes Smith guilty. BTW Biblical Archaeological Review report on Secret Mark is DOA. https://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/biblical-topics/bible-interpretation/agamemnon-tselikas-handwriting-analysis-report/ From Smith and Landau's book: And so he began his survey of t...

Re: Greek Monks Who Thought the Letter to Theodore was in the Mar Saba Monastery Before Morton Smith Arrives

I've asked a number of people what's the connection between Seraphim and Smith. Where is the documentation? This is the letter where Smith and Landau have determined that the monastery regarded the text as authentic: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3V88JvUlHYOqPK0EAfpM3-h...

But not just that it was regarded as authentic. Seraphim was there when Smith discovered the text. How did Smith and Landau know that Smith knew Seraphim? He must have been the one getting the books. I bet.

Re: Greek Monks Who Thought the Letter to Theodore was in the Mar Saba Monastery Before Morton Smith Arrives

Smith and Landau add something to the story: Flusser remembers that they did encounter one bump in the road. When the team of scholars attempted to leave with the book, “Abbot Seraphim,” an old friend of Smith who presided over Mar Saba, “raised hell,” demanding that “they would have to request it, ...
