Re: Temple scroll colour
I question whether you have correctly given the opinion of Ira Rabin. Give the exact reference and the exact quotation that you claim. From our email conversation after we met in 2014 at Hofstra University. The Temple scroll had perfectly white sections upon unrolling but now its colour is mostly y...

Re: Sinaiticus terminus ante quem
Thanks, Stephen, Do you see any reason for the firm terminus ante quem? Does Brent Nongbri show any familiarity for those who argued for later dates? (This would include Adolf Hilgenfeld.) You might also give your view as to who quickly there would be conflation in the Eusebian canons. A point I ra...

Re: KJV Tampering as a precursor to Sinaiaticus Fraud
Do you pretend she supports your view? Nope. She was anticipating learning about the manuscript in the planned 2015 tests in Leipzig. That was cancelled the day they arrived. Dr. Rabin spoke with deep emotion about that day in the 2021 Brent Nongbri zoom talk. Tell him what else she told you about ...

Re: KJV Tampering as a precursor to Sinaiaticus Fraud
Some Qumran manuscripts, among others 1650+ years old, are quite clearly readable. Can you turn pages as if they were like new? Have they avoided yellowing with age? (At least one manuscript came out of the jar whitish, but quickly yellowed, according to Ira Rabin.) Ira Rabin ALSO holds to the code...

Re: KJV Tampering
You are confused. I happily defended Sinaiticus authenticity, giving various reasons, until the evidence forced a new evaluation. This presupposition argument is typical nonsense, and should never be trusted. Everyone works with presuppositions.......it's just you want us all to ASSUME the KJV is &...

Re: evaluating testimony
Simplistic thinking. As opposed to a complicated conspiracy theory like a guy who thinks six moon landings were faked... (See e.g. the confirmation that came forth in 1900 mentioned by Farrer). 1) No confirmation of anything came forth 2) do you REALLY think there were zero developments regarding A...

Re: KJV Tampering
It is not plausible that any forger in the 19th century could create that codex. Hi Stephen! Why not? :) Note, it may have been designed as a replica rather than a forgery, but that does nor change the “why not” question. It is true that there would to be some textual savvy involved. What Steven Av...

Re: KJV Tampering as a precursor to Sinaiaticus Fraud
For the record, this guy didn't examine ANY of this for a very good reason - he can't read it at all. He also doesn't seem to notice the differences, we're just supposed to ignore those.Steven Avery wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:01 am That note from Nazaroo does not apply to the Sinaiticus homoeoteleutons under examination.

Re: Sinaiticus authenticity discussion Wed 11/30/2022 - James Snapp Jr. and Steven Avery
So, it seems highly dubious that Sinaiticus is any forgery of any kind, as only a really very arrogant religiot (please do notice how I turn that rule into an exception) would think that he can get away with blatantly obvious anachronisms like this Interesting example. An unusual, sophisticated ult...

Re: Sinaiticus - features that point to a late production
True, thanks. However, at this point everyone who is astute knows of the Bill Brown sickness, vulgarity and more. You've lived your entire life as a coward and will clearly die one, too. It's not my fault you LIED, Steven. And then you again gaslight me by accusing me of YOUR sickness. You're an ig...
