Re: Comparing gMark with 'other' history writings of the time?

I've argued that gMark was intended to be understood as an account of historical events. And as such, it is legitimate to compare gMark to other known history works of the time. What I'm most interested in is the 'narrator' of such other works. Because one thing that characterizes gMark is the anon...

Re: How could Paul afford his extensive travels?

If, however, "Paul" was a character built around some historical figure, say, Mucianus, Procurator of Syria then we might be able to see if there was a source of money from somewhere "outside" the Story LIne: https://www.ourcivilisation.com/smartboard/shop/tacitusc/histries/chap8.htm : "So the east...

Re: How could Paul afford his extensive travels?

Now, just for the sake of heuristic investigation, let's assume that Acts was correct, and Paul was a "tentmaker." Basically, he fabricated products from canvas, so besides "tents" this probably included canvas awnings, privacy screens, and maybe even sails for ships. Keep in mind that he was a con...

Re: Fictional Jesus Synthesis

If the search engine worked over at the archive look up "aa5874." He was legendary. The Michael Jordan of crazy. Try aa5874 Andrew Criddle Interesting. Fortunately not only in the "social context" sense, but I even learned something. A quote from the Homilies on the Acts of the Apostles by John Chr...

Re: Fictional Jesus Synthesis

We know that Christian writers of antiquity who used the so-called Gospels and Epistles argued that their Jesus was God in the flesh and was raised in the flesh after the crucifixion. The resurrection in the flesh was a fundamental teaching of Christian writers. Examine "On the Resurrection of the F...

Re: Fictional Jesus Synthesis

Indeed. I said that already before your first answer to me. That's why I ask where you say anything that contradicts me. You don't, but you make that claim anyway. And what is even more bizarre even after admitting NT texts are contradiction you used a most fictional account to argue a resurrected ...

Re: gMark is intended to be history writing

I also think there are clear indications that Luke knew gJohn or some version of it. But I definately think that Luke had gMark and gMatt in pretty much the same forms we have them. Both Klinghardt's and Vinzent's models allow for it all to have happened in close proximity in space and time * up to...

Nothing what you say contradicts me (which was your claim). What's your point?
You yourself have already admitted NT texts are contradictory.

Re: Fictional Jesus Synthesis

I have quoted 1 Corinthians directly at you: 44 It is sown a physical body, it is raised a spiritual body. 50 ... flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God... I have also quoted directly from the NT. The NT claims numerous persons including Jesus were physically raised from the dead. There ...
