Re: Is Middle Revelation Historical, Mythical or Other?

This is used as a backdrop for the eventual conquering of Rome (see Revelation 10:6 in which the mighty angel declares that the time is really really soon). 1.Who is the Strong Angel?' 2. Whose POV is given here? Judaic Sympathizers or Roman Sympathizers? I think the Strong angel is a product of pa...

Re: Is Middle Revelation Historical, Mythical or Other?

It is all of the above and more. First, it is the stitching together of the Hebrew Scriptures via Hebrew Poetry / Parallel formations. The selections of the text are connected with a historical reality that the author wants to convey. Personally, I see it all referring to the destruction of Jerusale...

Re: The mystery of the mark of the Beast, 666/616, is solved and it proves I am right about Hadrian

Klewis, a major flaw in your analysis, at least in my eyes, is that you reject any real world need for Revelation and that it is only comparative to inner textual sources and not external historical events. Why, under your hypothesis, which I'm not disagreeing with, was Revelation necessary? What w...

Re: The mystery of the mark of the Beast, 666/616, is solved and it proves I am right about Hadrian

Perhaps the number 666 means the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet, and the sixth bowl and the author of Revelation didn't even think in the meaning of a number identifying the person. The source material for the beast is from Daniel chapter 7 in which John split it up in chapters 13, 17, and 19. Each t...

Re: A solution to the Light and the Sun discrepancy in the Genesis story

The first creation account is Hebrew Poetry in that the left column describes the start of the process and the right column describes the completion of the process. The beginning and end of the process represents the same state. God did nothing before creation Day 1 -- God created light Day 4 -- God...

Re: Transfiguration == original crucifixion in the Earliest Gospel

Nasruddin, you have not proved that Jesus has a personality in John. Are you able to describe your point without too much quotes? It seems that you are unable even to do so. I am sure that even your stupid apologist here doesn't realize your point because you have not explained it well. Your Statem...

Re: Transfiguration == original crucifixion in the Earliest Gospel

Perhaps Giuseppe needs to articulate:
  • What words or phrases that should be ascribe to Jesus that would constitute as human emotions?
  • What words ascribe to human emotions that are falsely attributed to human only?
I do know that his response will be in the form of an ad hominem attack.

Re: How is it that the Didache is listed as older Matthew's Gospel if it talks about The Lord's Prayer from The Gospel?

Dating these works are in the eyes of the beholder. For example, the first reference is from 'Q' and the second one could be. I don't have my references in front of me to say as much. Also, even if we cannot triangulate the text from Q because there is not a Lukan source, Matthew could have derived ...
