"Plus Luke was a super-accurate historian. " are you saying that he did not always believe what jesus' disciples told him and weighed the evidence like accurate historian? but the word "investigate" means the following : The word is παρακολουθέω (parakaloutheo), which means "to follow after." The Gr...

Re: Which is the evidence that the Pillars believed in a Crucified Christ?

What I am trying to say is, if the Pillars didn't believe in a crucified Christ, wouldn't there be major groups claiming that Christ was not crucified ?

are you implying there were some groups(not major) who did believe christ wasn't crucified?

Re: No Mention of Nails

"Just saw this on Facebook. Why if the gospel is a historical account are there no mention of nails being driven in Jesus's hands. The stigmata are important to Christian theology and by association Paul - but no specific mention of Jesus's hands (and feet) being penetrated by nails" the gospel of l...

dying and rising gods

https://www.richardcarrier.info/archives/13890 Within the confines of what was then the Roman Empire, long before and during the dawn of Christianity, there were many dying-and-rising gods. And what about the people crucified the day before, and the day after, and the day after that? Or was it just Jesus? If it was every Jew who was ever crucifie...

Re: Dating the Gospel of Mark

All critical scholars say that the parts of 'Daniel' where "Daniel" predicts the looting of the temple and killing of Jews by Antiochus IV, were written after these events. And "Mark" used the same device by having Jesus predict future events which happened before the gospel was written. hello Bern...

Re: Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid For. Confirmation 16:8 Original

Richard carrier recently replied to a christian apologist. He said that mark not only tells that the women told him anything(they said nothing to anyone) , but peter did not even witness an empty tomb. Mark was Matthews source and even in Matthew peter never visits an empty tomb.

Re: Did Jesus declare all foods clean?

Alexander, yes, priestly writers would have been well pissed with mark 7. YHWH is a HOLY god. His commands are holy. YHWH says that certain foods do defile.
