I wonder what Gnostic Jews like Philo, Artipanus, and r. Akiva would have to say about this?
I mean "Gnostic" as hater of YHWH.
This is so Gnostic of you, creating your own hidden definitions so we may seek enlightenment.

Re: My Take on a Single Author for the Book of Revelation

It is not theological at all; nor is it based on religious ideology. As I said, it is psychological. I find it hard to believe that an author would sabotage his own carefully wrought structure. It is not impossible, but it strikes me as improbable. But another author either not noticing or not cari...

Re: My Take on a Single Author for the Book of Revelation

An example of the tweaking and changing in the Hebrew Scripture is to look at an earlier version of Genesis-Exodus. Below is a parallel formation between Genesis and Numbers depicting the first half of Genesis and how it is a parallel formation of a section in Numbers. What is important here is that...

Re: My Take on a Single Author for the Book of Revelation

Almost everyone agrees that Revelation has the most allusions to the Hebrew Scriptures and there are works that show how Revelation uses Zechariah ( Marko Jauhiainen, The Use of Zechariah in Revelation, Mohr Sidbeck, 2005) and how Revelation uses Isaiah (Jan Fekkes, Isaiah and Prophetic Traditions ...

My Take on a Single Author for the Book of Revelation

I know that I am in the minority on this forum in the belief of a single author for the Apocalypse (another name for the Book of Revelation). Therefore, I have taken the time to provide a terse but lengthy argument as to the author of Revelation as a single author. The Writing Process There are many...

Re: John 16:33: evidence of crucifixion in outer space

This clearly shows evidence of a divine, because the concept of outer space came about centuries later.

Or the could be a modern person, taking on what he knows and reading it into an ancient text.

Re: The crucifixion of the Teacher of Justice is meant in Rev 11:8

Yes, I see Revelation as written by a single author following a simple process of using Hebrew poetry. The approach I used is outlined in chapter 1 (see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QLNLgGRJiHpVdKEoIk0R1s6LFkhdz-3v/view?usp=sharing ) which is 11 pages long. So far, the only scholar to review it ...

Re: The crucifixion of the Teacher of Justice is meant in Rev 11:8

There is more to it than just Zechariah: Absolutely, in my book I show the parts that come from: Ezekiel and Isaiah ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/12JZcorsGkbk-NWBKLadMgmcPMk7uSXCx/view for a snapshot of how Revelation added the two sources in), Daniel, Deuteronomy and Joshua (see https://drive....

Re: The crucifixion of the Teacher of Justice is meant in Rev 11:8

Zechariah 2:1-5 1 Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2 I asked, “Where are you going?” He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.” 3 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet hi...

With that logic:

My wife told me not to go off half-cocked.

Therefore, I can assume that she served in the Revolutionary war using flintlocks.
