Re: Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid For. Confirmation 16:8 Original

Incidentally, I think "lost ending" is the most probable explanation.

Re: Apologist 13 Mission Control

JW : This Forum is based on Science and Logic so Steven has no credibility here. He always reminds me of that scene from the Wizard of Oz where The Wicked Witch of the West is told to get lost because she has no power in Oz. Steven you have no power here. Begone! Before someone drops a first centur...

With fuzz and buzz.
Let's see....you've now had six years.....and all I've seen are a bunch of assertions.

Incidentally, are you gonna grow a pair and actually debate the Comma Johanneum?
Or will you continue to contribute nothing more than online insults from afar?

Re: Coloring the Truth: Sinaiticus

Curious. Do you have any writings from Brent Nongbri where he states his definitive position on Codex Sinaiticus? Based on personal palaeographical study. Thanks! I know a whole lot more than you think. (You continue to forget that the academic NT community is very small even worldwide. Your citati...

Again, you're lying.

It's always amazing to me how often you give the old,"I answered this elsewhere" lie, when you haven't.

Re: Coloring the Truth: Sinaiticus

But there is a religious significance for eight , though. is a iteration of Isaiah . An eight-fold holy discrepancy is not unusual, or unexpected. Do you have any examples of texts being adjusted based on this "not .. unexpected" significance? And if you do, are they from a much later Byz...

Re: Coloring the Truth: Sinaiticus

The fallacy is in your court, since this is an overall manuscript reference, so one being lacuna in Revelation does not affect the other mss. like Alexandrinus. The statement also includes all languages. So we can know a priori what the manuscripts that have this and the surrounding passages outrig...

Re: Coloring the Truth: Sinaiticus

If the Octoechos is the source for the eight holies, it is highly unlikely to be an early source. The eight-mode system only has its beginnings around the time of John of Damascus (see the reference for Pseudo-John of Damascus on the page). The dots on the extra Holies would also reflect this type o...

Re: reader knowledge of Jesus origin

Should we not add the lack of a Jesus origin story, including genealogy, as an additional Markan reader's presumption element. If we stick with actual extant writings, this would make Luke and/or Matthew circulating before Mark No. Those elements depend upon the kind of story being told; their abse...

Re: trolling, trolling trolling, keep those trolls a rolling

Rather the trollish accusation. You're confusing me with you. Ben Smith is quite capable of speaking up if he objects to my presentation of the evidences, coming from a full Bible believer position, including the authenticity of the traditional ending of Mark. A position rejected even by the majori...
