I've been reading Wheeden's Mark Traditions in Conflict in which he argues that Mark was arguing against his opponents theios aner (divine man) concept of Jesus. I think the better argument is that Judas traditions are 'late' but dependency is hard to determine.

Paul clearly hijacked the movement, Mark then clearly made up the character of Jesus. What just puzzles me is why none of the two ever points to the other in any way - that, or it is too subtle for me (and that point of saturation is reached fairly quickly, I can tell you) Mark very clearly points ...
