Re: Why was invented Paul?

Re: Why was invented Paul?
but the idea of ''people who preach about Christ who travel widely'' is associated from me sponte directly to idea of people wiling to be Torah-free.
Our problem, I remember you, is that we are without an hypothetical Gospel of Pillars (assuming they existed).

Re: Why was invented Paul?
I would disagree with the point (2) in this sense: in my view, the idea of freedom from Torah (at least for Christian gentiles only) is born in minds of more men quasi at the same time [therefore there is not a ''first'' or a ''second''], therefore it's impossible to come back to a specific individu...

Re: Why was invented Paul?
But in while I would have raised the prior at least at fifty-fifty about the question. Therefore it is to be examined only the consequent.

Re: Why was invented Paul?
I ask you only to consider the possibility that Matthew (with the metaphor smallness vs greatness) is prior all the pauline letters, insofar I consider 'the other way around'.

Re: Why was invented Paul?
Richard replied: Even the coincidence of Paulus meaning “littleboy” does not entail intention (Paulus was also a very common and prestigious Roman name, e.g. Aemilius Paulus) and even insofar as it did, it could well be the initiation name Paul chose for himself when he converted, precisely because ...

Re: Why was invented Paul?
In case of Paul (in reference to case raised from his name) we have: 1) the hostile metaphor of Matthew against the free-Torah ''least''. 2) a presumed author of letters that really did all that he could in order to realize precisely that simbolism behind his name - and ONLY THAT. Pure coincidence?

Re: Why was invented Paul?
And Cefa/Peter? And Thomas/Twin? And Judas/Judea? If I had read the name'Peter Kirby' ('rock church town') ONLY in allegory/fiction or in apologetical Christian blog (about a local church or something of kind) that use that name, can you give me the right to discuss the possibility of his not-being ...

Re: Historicity of Paul, apostle and letter-writer
Peter wrote to Richard: I’m sure you would agree that we can divide the subject into two questions: (1) the historicity of an apostle Paul and (2) the authenticity of the letters attributed to Paul. I would disagree. If the 'historicus Paulus' wrote nothing and even was not named 'Paul', then very p...
