Giuseppe, if "Definitely on the Semitic root [....]"
then why did you also propose a different, Greek, way to claim to erase Pilate?

Apparently, maryhelena thinks whatever she thinks is the "story" is what matters.

Slavonic Josephus is quite late. Of course that's relevant, even if some lack interest in that fact.

Giuseppe's proposals to exclude Pilate--sometimes via a Greek guess; other times by a Semitic guess--are less than credible.

Re: What do we know about the revenue / expenditures of early churches?

While I would not venture percent estimates, for architecture, inscriptions sometimes mention a major donor or donors. Re: Early Christian Ebionaen Canon

The phrase "Early Christian Ebionaen Canon," proposed by someone using the name ebion, raises questions, including: Why write Ebionaen rather than Ebionite? Did they--the people so-called--all agree with one another? Did they, some of them, change over time? Did they all call themselves th...

In the post above is the statement:
"In his article "Essenes and Lurking Spartans in Josephus' Judean War: From Story to History" (2011), Goranson suggests [....]"
I, Goranson, did not write that article. Steve Mason did.

Re: Do any Church Fathers state or imply that Jesus spoke Aramaic during his ministry (ie in gospel)?

For those here who may be interested in history of scholarship, J. J. Scaliger's mistake about whether Hebrew was still used at the time was in:

De Emendatione Temporum (1583) 251-252.

Re: Do any Church Fathers state or imply that Jesus spoke Aramaic during his ministry (ie in gospel)?

As you know, according to Luke 4:16 and following Jesus read in a synagogue from Isaiah, presumably in Hebrew, as no translation into Aramaic was mentioned. Aramaic was in more widespread use at the time, so sometimes a translator, a meturgeman, would follow the Hebrew reading with an Aramaic paraph...

Re: Any pre-325 CE writings where Jesus' historicity was doubted?

If you think your argument about non-existence is persuasive (which I do not), why did you not present any previous such observer in support of your analysis? Or are you the first to finally see "truth"?
