Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
Friedrich Nietzsche, often criticized what he saw as the dangers of excessive systematization in thought and philosophy. Nietzsche's warning about "systemizers" primarily revolves around his critique of philosophers and thinkers who try to fit the world into rigid, all-encompassing systems...

Re: back to the drawing board? the missing sondergut Marcion
The one thing we can be sure. The one thing. Marcion thought Paul wrote a gospel which began with Mark 1:1. Other than that, it's all up for grabs.

Re: A Comment on Daniel McClellan's On Going Social Media Efforts
My point is that Irenaeus has predisposed everyone toward certain ideas about religion. For instance that Christians believing in many different things is bad and an abandonment from the faith of the apostles. This dogmatic view carries over to scholarship. We are naturally predisposed toward second...

Re: A Comment on Daniel McClellan's On Going Social Media Efforts

Re: A Comment on Daniel McClellan's On Going Social Media Efforts
Like we're trained to think that there was some point, some master plan behind Paul. What if he just created a platform for content Creator's. What if there was no religion?

Re: A Comment on Daniel McClellan's On Going Social Media Efforts
Irenaeus tells us there were these make believe apostles who wanted to keep a "canon of faith" alive and Irenaeus, late in the second century was rekindling their wish. What if he's lying? What if Paul was like the owners of Youtube, Facebook and Tiktok? What if he just wanted content?
