Re: "Immar-Yah" => " 'Immr-ya" => "Marya"
Unless the sense of this passage is more along the general lines of: Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed upon him the name that is above every name, such that at the new name of him who was formerly called Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and eve...

Re: "Immar-Yah" => " 'Immr-ya" => "Marya"
Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. From thi...

Re: Understanding early Christianity beyond the Church Fathers
I'd say that, throughout history, 90% of Christians had no idea and no interest in Christianity other than those parts that were socially useful. (I'd say that this is the same with ancient Romans and Greeks as well.) If the church leaders claimed that Jesus was of a different substance to the Fath...

Speaking of Dense Seas, how about the Dead Sea? Talk about dense. Could "He endured the Dense Sea" be stated as "He endured the Dead Sea"?

Re: "Immar-Yah" => " 'Immr-ya" => "Marya"
Thank you VERY MUCH, lsayre! I tend to agree. The Inversion of Meaning here would be more easily seen with our Priest having a NAME as of old. Indeed, the importance of the "NAME of 'Jesus'", so often given in the NT, may be the Push needed to go with "Name". More later - "...

Re: The Diatessaron Knows the Marcionite Gospel?
Historically it would seem that the trend in story telling as well as in Scribal story copying is for the story to become increasingly embellished over time. This would quite logically imply that (on average) the shorter version is to be favored to come earlier, as opposed to later. If there is no o...

Re: "Immar-Yah" => " 'Immr-ya" => "Marya"
The Original, submerged in the rewrites of Mark and John, had a number of Plays-on-Words. "Lamb-of-God" was certainly one. Name or Title? CW Since there is often a twist to your train of thought, I'm going with "Name", although the progressional logic of your build-up seems to l...

Re: 1 Cor 10:20, “they sacrifice to demons”
It seems rather obvious that the Christianity which 'Paul' initiated has essentially zero requirement for a foundation of Judaism. Why then is there seemingly a concerted effort by the majority whereby to twist Christianity such that it appears as if to be an evolution out of Judaism? Is there any a...

Quelle (Q) in the Gospel of John?
Do any Q sayings appear within the Gospel of John? And is there a source which lists them?
