Re: An ancient Cathar text reveals that John the Baptist pointed Jesus as the Lamb of God to move the Jews to kill him
There was, and continued to be, rivalry between the two groups. If there was no rivalry, then John the Baptist declaring in the presence of his own disciples that Jesus was the coming Messiah (as the Gospels claim he did), would have immediately meant that John and his disciples would become followe...

Re: Phoenician Atlantis
Poseidon was god of the sea, whose sacred animal was the bull. The Greek myth of Europa is that she was a Phoenician princess, abducted by a god in the form of a bull, taken to an island in the sea where she gave birth to two sons (Minos and Rhadamanthys) who became Great Kings of a naval empire, wi...

Without John there would be no Jesus.

Clearly Theudas is a different person That is the exact thing that has to be proved. But Theudas was a Jew. An adorer of YHWH. I have to see a case proving John adored YHWH, also. His name ("it is YHWH who gives grace") is not enough persuasive, in this sense. Where do you read that Theud...

Jesus withdrew to lonely places often (meaning he came back often).
John lived in the wilderness (meaning all the time) and only came back the one time (i.e 'until').

Josephus has an earlier passage about John the Baptist, in Antiquities 18.5.2 Now some of the Jews thought that the destruction of Herod's army came from God, and that very justly, as a punishment of what he did against John, that was called the Baptist: for Herod slew him, who was a good man, and c...

Re: An ancient Cathar text reveals that John the Baptist pointed Jesus as the Lamb of God to move the Jews to kill him
So why was Jesus there anyway? John was baptizing for the forgiveness of sin (as the quoted Cathar text says), So what sin was Jesus seeking forgiveness for? The possibility is that Jesus did not go to John to be baptized. He went to John to question his authority. The Gospel of John 1:19-30 reads: ...

Re: Satan gave man love. Was it worth the hate?
Where does it say that Good and Evil (or Love and Hate) did not exist before the serpent enticed Eve? It was the Knowledge of Good and Evil that Eve discovered through the help of the serpent (who is not defined as Satan in the Old Testament), not the ability to perform good or evil itself. Once Eve...

Re: How Could Symeon be James the Just's Successor on the Episcopal Throne of Jerusalem if He was Crucified Under Trajan
Since the OP was stimulated by taking the dates indicated in Epiphanius as reliable, perhaps the rest of Epiphanius' chronology could be looked at in reference to the bishop list. Epiphanius agrees with Eusebius in placing Symeon’s death under Trajan. But he then lists another 6 bishops who seemingl...
