Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
You do? After your last debacle with regard to Roman history, I somehow doubt it. Your common technique of a vague allusion to .. something unknown, weighed by you. Most of what is after that does not connect to your claims against the masses of Greek manuscripts, which were of course transmitted, ...

Re: Romans 8:1 - Marcion according to Adamantius
Thanks, Ben. NA28 barely scratches the ECW surface. Listing Ambrosiaster and the Speculum and omitting 10-15 others. Such as Adamantius, Origen, Athanasius, Chrysostom, Cassian and Basil. Tertullian and Methodius above is not, apparently, about the inclusion/omission of our phrases. They are general...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
And yet the logic is wrong if you look at history, no matter what anyone writes. It's as simple as that. And I do look at history. Can you explain your thinking here? Maybe giving what you consider to be a good example or two. We are talking about the significance of the mass of Byzantine Greek (&q...

Re: Romans 8:1 - Marcion according to Adamantius
Thanks, DC. Yes on the meaning of omission text and the three variants. Actually Westcott and Hort specificaly included Adamantius, "Adam", which you can see here. https://books.google.com/books?id=gZ4HAAAAQAAJ&pg=RA1-PA109 And I do not have the NA editions handy on the verse, but I th...

the Tischendorf lies about his 1844 theft have skewed the physical analysis history
Also, you forget about the point that the monks had been collecting all the different parts from the monastery in the time between. A Tischendorf fabrication myth that does not have a scintilla of support evidence. In fact the modern theorists went a step further. They conjectured an 1844-1845 Sina...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
Every person with at least rudimentary knowledge of history and geography knows that you can automatically dismiss the opinion of anyone who puts weight into the number of medieval Greek manuscripts. Of course, you have to be reasonable to see that. The quanity of agreeing mss. points to early exem...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
The reason there is a superb defense of the authenticity of Acts 8:37 is because it has it has western support, and far more including solid minority byzantine, wide-ranging ECW and and superb internal support, the short version being a corrupt lacuna. Also, the dropping of the verse is not surprisi...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
You read the James Snapp article. After many requests. Very good.
Now you know that simply insisting that Acts 8:37 is simply a Western reading, as if that closes the matter, is totally wrong.
Your chatter above is mildly interesting, but really adds nothing.
Steven

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?
So Western-type it is. I have tried to help you on this, and I did recommend the James Snapp article. This is from a section of bullet points: ================================== ● The inclusion of Acts 8:37 is supported by early (Roman-Empire-era) patristic writers in a wide variety of locales. ● T...

Re: Codex Sinaiticus - the white parchment Friderico-Augustanus
My post says 2009. Sinaiticus had been used by the monks as garbage parchment for fixing other books. It wouldn't be overly surprising if we saw more fragments show up in the coming years. Are you talking about anything other than the Nikolas Sarris fragment, which has rather sketchy scholarship? A...
