Re: Why We Can't Trust Epiphanius With His Sources
If Epiphanius quoted from non-canonical texts, wouldn't that imply that to him they were every bit as authentic and efficacious as actual Canonical texts?

Re: Why We Can't Trust Epiphanius With His Sources
Epiphanius was a biased and prejudiced person. However, as far as we can tell he quotes accurately from the written texts available to him. Andrew Criddle If true, this would be a clear indicator that the so called 'Canonical' texts are perversions of earlier strata texts, would it not? I don't see...

Re: Why did Pauline gospel—gMark, not clearly deprecate the Torah law as did Paul?
Perhaps the reason is that the earliest strata of gMark didn't know of the Pauline epistles at all. This is my favored position.

Re: My Strongest Argument Marcion WASN'T First

And thus when some (such as Peter) began a movement proclaiming their hope that he...

Re: "A Better Understanding..." => "New Orthodox" replaces the Old Orthodox
So Paul told the disciples (of whom, John or Jesus?) that they needed to be baptized in the name of Jesus whereby to receive the Holy Spirit. They were then baptized in the name of Jesus, yet they still lacked the Hold Spirit. The name of Jesus was not efficacious. It was only after Paul laid his ha...

The young man in white garments (likely one an the same as the boy/young man who fled naked) may have been intended to become the star of a sequel that never materialized.

Why did the "Baptism of John" bring (land) the Holy Spirit upon Jesus, but not bring the Holy Spirit upon anyone else?
