From conversion to supreme god (== the Father, NOT Yhwh) to conversion for remission of the sins
From a theological POV, the chronological order of the texts is the following: Galatians 3:1 You foolish [ ἀ νόη τοι ] Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. opposition between νοῦς and flesh already in Paul (who adored YHWH as suprem...

Re: Fire and light on the Jordan.
Thanks for this interesting observation: The fire, then, could easily have been a detail added, not in order to dignify Jesus, but rather in order to purify him of sin . from my POV of the first Gospels being not Gnostic but anti- Gnostic , the embarrassment of a Jesus purified by fire ( notorious s...

Re: Jesus from Outer Space
"The rulers of this age" are the ones of "the present evil age". not only: they are the ones who rule "the present evil age". "This age" is "evil" because it is ruled by them. The innocent Romans can't be such rulers because in Romans 13:1-7 Paul in...

to Giuseppe, Bernard Muller wrote: There is nothing here to indicate Belial is a Satanic figure and co-ruler of this age. are you ignoring the "poor στοιχεῖα" adored by the same Judaizers (=adorers of YHWH and his Torah) mentioned in Galatians? What's that? Give the verse number. What is ...

Re: Jesus from Outer Space
It is evident that by 'this age' he means the entire period from the creation until to present time: Romans didn't rule the earth when Adam was expelled from Eden. No, this is not evident. From where did you get that? from the fact that Paul says: No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has bee...

Re: Jesus from Outer Space
I don't see why, even with the genitive, a succession of archontes cannot be human rulers. archontes cannot be human rulers, because who rules "this age" (=accusative) cannot be mere mortals. My difficulty in thinking that the Romans can rule "this age" is the relative young age...

Re: A question about William L. Petersen
What I find surprising about your view, is that you place the epistles after the 70 CE with extreme easiness, while in the same time you are obstinate to place the gospels before the 100 CE. Do you realize that not only the 'pauline' epistles, but also the pseudo-pauline epistles don't mention the G...

A question about William L. Petersen
I would like to know:
- If is it true that W.L.Petersen places the Gospels in the second century CE
- What are his reasons to do so

1 Co 1:20 "Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age ? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" αἰῶνος can mean "epoch" of the earth, as also here: 1 Co 2:7 1 Co 2:6 "Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a...
