Re: Best Theological Argument Yet 4 a Mythical/aHistoric Jes

to MrMacSon,
Where animals were sacrifices probably varied from place to place;
We do not have evidence these Jewish animal sacrifices were done inside any kind of shelter. Actually, it is documented they were done always outside any shelter/holy place.

Re: Did Jesus Die in Outer Space?

to Kapyong, Essentially I think the phrase 'that world' is referring back to 'the firmament' mentioned previously, not to the earth which isn't mentioned there. If it is the original text, then why would the beloved (an angel later christianized as Jesus and Christ and Son) pass through the firmamen...

Re: Did Jesus Die in Outer Space?

to MrMacSon,
It is explicit here that Christ's sacrifice was performed in the "greater and more perfect tabernacle" which "not a part of this creation.
And where would that be said in Hebrews? (about the location of Christ`s sacrifice).

Re: Date Jesus was supposed to be crucified

preferably as a clear logical argument or precise.
And that's exactly what I did on my blog post:
"Could Antipas-Herodias' wedding, John the baptist's arrest & execution and Jesus' crucifixion have happened in 35-36 AD?" http://historical-jesus.info/85.html

Re: Best Theological Argument Yet 4 a Mythical/aHistoric Jes

I think the point is he would not have been a priest if he were ever on earth. But that's not what the Greek text is saying. Furthermore all members of the tribe of Judah lived on earth (see Hebrews 7:14 “For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Mo...

Re: Did Jesus Die in Outer Space?

...here [Hebrews 8.1-5] we're told that Jesus not only performed his sacrifice in the celestial temple....but that he had to do so...We're also told here the same thing Isaiah was told in the Ascension: that everything on earth has a duplicate version of it in the heavens. The implication is that Je...

It is explicit here that Christ's sacrifice was performed in the "greater and more perfect tabernacle" No, sacrifices of animal were not done in tabernacle or tent or temple edifice but outside, in the open. If he were on earth, he would not be a priest The time reference is about when th...

Re: Date Jesus was supposed to be crucified

Herodias is a very key figure and Hagan (Year of the Passover) goes into her life extensively. She is linked to both Jesus and John the Baptist in the Gospels. Throw Syrian President Lucius Vitellius into the mix and you have a very interesting A.D. 36 Passover! I have a blog post against the 36 AD...

Re: First Epistle of John before John's Gospel?

I do not agree with Doherty for everything he wrote about the 1 John epistle, but I am almost certain that 1 John was written before the initial John's gospel, likely before gMark was known in the gJohn community. It is all explained here, towards the end of the webpage: http://historical-jesus.info...
