Re: The crucifixion of the Teacher of Justice is meant in Rev 11:8

The origin of much of the text is as follows: In the first draft of Revelation (See https://drive.google.com/file/d/12JZcorsGkbk-NWBKLadMgmcPMk7uSXCx/view ) The 42 months was derived from Ezekiel laying on one side and the other signifying the destruction / siege of Jerusalem (see page 43). The prop...

Re: "Who is...?" No! WHAT is John-Mark?

Charles, Thanks, I must agree with you that Mark and John seem opposites. Mark, Jesus tries to quite others from telling about him. In John, it is the opposite. Mark, Jesus became the Son of Man somehow. In John, Jesus is the pre-existing God. In Mark, Jesus died after Passover, in John, Jesus was t...

Re: "Who is...?" No! WHAT is John-Mark?

I see the the construction of the Gospel of John as a fill in the gaps approach. John knew of all the events, and probably had one or more of the synoptic gospels in front of him. He then wrote stories around them. John went a step further though, he clustered the stories to illustrate a thematic po...

Re: "Who is...?" No! WHAT is John-Mark?

Paul's correspondence with Seneca has more to do with absence of evidence requires evidence from absence. Paul, is a pillar of the Christian faith, prominent scholar, philosopher, and all things to all people. The only problem was that no one ever heard of him, and thus evidence of that lack of hear...

Re: Who is John Mark?

The writing process is what dictates our perception of Matthew as more Jewish than the others. For example, Matthew uses a thematic overlay, depicting Jesus as the new Moses which by design gives it a more Jewish flavor. Moses and Jesus accounts have a story of the killing of the infants by the rule...

Re: The "Lamb" interpolated where the Son of God appeared in proto-John

In Revelation, the "Lamb" is a synonym for Joshua / Jesus and has its origins in the Deuteronomy-Joshua Draft (DJD) in which John inserted the last six chapters of Deuteronomy and the first six chapters of Joshua into the prior draft of Revelation (see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-CVj...

Re: Dating Paul and his Letters

My suggestion --- GMark serves as evidence for a mid-1st century CE Paul, even with a mythical Jesus. My basic assumptions here --- Many within Christian Bible scholarship use Acts to attach specific dates to Paul’s activities. But for a great many critical scholars and other critical investigators...

Re: How I date the Book of Revelation: Part 1 -- Part 2 will be added to this post

In my earlier post, I mentioned that John used Ezekiel as his primary text. That statement was partly true. The first draft of Revelation was really a logical draft comprised of material from the whole of Ezekiel and chapters 6 to 29 of Isaiah. The reason for the selection is two fold, first the two...
