Re: The Tide Turns

Oh wait, it has already been done attempted by Bart D. Ehrhman in, "Did Jesus Exist?", although he miserably failed at that task. FIFY. The book is a clear example how the author took his task too lightly and then tried to weasel through the whole thing, with not much success. You should ...

Re: Wrestling With Greco-Roman Bio. Is GMark Greek Tragedy?

Likewise, the genitals would compare and contrast their mythical gods to Jesus in the same manner. Time to ask my genitals, I guess. Discourse in the time of smartphones definitely takes unexpected turns. So, the gospels are written just as we would expect them to be if Jesus was real. Not really. ...

Re: The Tide Turns

Actually, I thought the title claim that the "tide turns" was meant to illustrate the fact that so-called "mythicists" get recognized by mainstream outlets in more than a completely dismissive way. The book this is hinged on is obviously not quite up to task, and any claim of dis...

Re: The Tide Turns

I was thinking of those poor students sitting there, who probably have to reproduce that nonsense he presents in some kind of test. Painful.

Re: The Lielemma.William Craig,Liar for Jesus,Stupid or Betw

One of the significant issue with the Kalam is, 'if everything has a cause', what caused God? This logical failure is already visible in the short video John T linked. First he "proves" that nothing exists without cause, then he "proves" that the start (which he names God) was u...

Re: The Lielemma.William Craig,Liar for Jesus,Stupid or Betw

Since it is appears JoeWallck is not able to prove that Craig is a liar, how about Jay pick up the torch as a competent philosopher and prove Craig wrong. http://youtu.be/VeKavDdRVIg "As nothing begins without a cause, the universe cannot be without cause." "As there cannot...

John T wrote:Did you not read what Atwill had to say about Carrier?
I find it extraordinarily amusing how someone uses Atwill of all people to bolster an orthodox position against Carrier.

Re: Can Richard Carrier be trusted to write the truth?

Why do you come to this thread and ask questions, if your conclusion is already foregone? That's as silly as coming and asking for a single claim out of a whole book that coherently builds a case.
