That's encouraging. What's the full bibliographical reference?
It's vol. 38 of the Discoveries in the Judaean Desert series: Miscellaneous Texts from the Judaean Desert. Plate 27. Fragment 9.

Re: Psalm 22:17, Hebrew Text, "Like A Lion". Who's Lion?

That the blotch caused the foreshortening is debatable. ydy (or ydyh, as Flint reads it here) is written similarly throughout the scroll, with a relatively short dalet, and both yods and dalet of similar (and sometimes identical) length. In one instance (in fragment 6) the final yod even appears sl...

Re: Psalm 22:17, Hebrew Text, "Like A Lion". Who's Lion?

Note that this yod is about the same length as the final letter of the offending word and actually seems somewhat longer than the Daled preceding it. Then the first question is: is the second yod in ydyh actually a waw? Since that would render the Hebrew unintelligible, evidently it is in fact a lo...

... the waw/yod confusion noted in the DSS era. It might be worth mentioning some pertinent comments from Peter Flint, from his treatment of the Psalms scroll in the Discoveries in the Judaean Desert series: As is characteristic of the late Herodian period, waw and yod [in the fragments] are usuall...

Re: Psalm 22:17, Hebrew Text, "Like A Lion". Who's Lion?

If Spin or Joe W. wish to reach a different conclusion, it would help if they picked the fragment photo they most approve of and circle all waws and yods at the end of words. Note that Flint's assessment of the waw/yod distinction is based on the fourteen surviving fragments of the Psalms scroll an...

Re: ''of the seed of David'' as mythicist evidence

The Bar Kokhba's reluctance (and Herod's reluctance) to proclaim himself as davidic tells us that the title of davidic was reserved probably only to spiritual super-heroes, not to mere men. Giuseppe, Davidic descent has been claimed by a segment of the Jewish population right up til today. IIRC, th...

Re: Carrier on the proposed Gospel sources such as Q, L, M,

Worse, some of these supposed “Aramaic sources” are agreed by Ehrman to be entirely fictional. For instance , previous to this debate, Ehrman claimed the Miracle of Jairus’s Daughter is a story that must come from one of these “early” “eyewitness” “Aramaic” sources; yet, he would agree, that story ...

Re: Muhammad gained his knowledge of the OT via the Diatesse

Although I can't comment on Bowman's essay in any detail since I've not read it, on the face of it, its thesis regarding the Diatessaron seems unlikely. For one thing, the Qur'an has far too many parallels with rabbinic texts to have been limited to the Diatessaron alone. In fact, it shows a rather ...
