I have some quibbles about specific points but Heirs to Forgotten Kingdoms is an excellent book, well worth reading.

Beyond the Sunni, is it only the Zoroastrianism that are still in operation, does anybody know. Great list, by the way...

The Baha'i Faith is still functioning, though severely oppressed in many Islamic countries. The World Center of the Baha'i Faith is in Haifa, Israel.
