Re: Caesar crucifixion
Except it was the wax image of Caesar that was nailed on a tropaeum. Whereas the modern definition of crucifixion means, to nail a living person on a flat-plane cross, or tropaeum, as a means of torture, suspension, humiliation and execution. From the Latin crucifigere, fix onto some kind of wooden stake, or gibbet.

Correct. Here is what the Koran says…EdwardM wrote:Except it was the wax image of Caesar that was nailed on a tropaeum.

4:157 And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.
Re: Caesar crucifixion
The Greek verb for that is homophonous with the Latin verb "I cremate"…EdwardM wrote:suspension,

Caesar's corpse was also cremated…

The third day nonetheless.
The Caesar cremation site (Ara di Cesare) seems to be the Jesus tomb.
Re: Caesar crucifixion
The cremation site is part of the Divus Iulius temple…

Re: Caesar crucifixion
The Jesus crucifixion is indeed based on the Caesar crucifixion. On the following pages it's very clearly explained, especially through the photos and drawings:
