Long live the chains! It is a slogan coined by the Spanish absolutists in 1814 when, in the return of the exile of Ferdinand VII , a popular reception was staged in which the horses were disengaged from his chariot, which was replaced by people from the village who pulled it. 1 It was intended to justify the decision of the king to ignore the Constitution of 1812 and the rest of the legislative work of the Cortes of Cádiz , ruling as absolute king , as proposed by the signatories of the Manifesto of the Persians (12 April)

Two of Denmark's ruling parties are considering upping the punishment for transgressors of the recent burqa ban from DKK 1,000 ($155) to a prison sentence, as it risks being rendered ineffective by a French-Algerian mogul previously dubbed the "Zorro of Niqab."

31 October, 2018

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland has welcomed a landmark court ruling to overturn the death sentence of a Pakistani Christian woman convicted of blasphemy.
Rt Rev Susan Brown urged the authorities in Pakistan to now ensure the safety and security of Asia Bibi, 47, who was convicted in 2010 after being accused of insulting the Prophet Muhammad in a row about a bucket of water.
