And if the 'polemarch' was Marcus Agrippa then the corruption of פולומרכא into 'Paulos' because all the more understandable given the personal name of the king.

The historical situation would presume:
1. a pre-existent Christian community presumably associated with 'Simon' (either 'Peter' or 'Magus' or the two being one and the same)
2. a period where Christianity was associated with rebels/brigands
3. a period where the authorities/the polemarch persecuted the rebels/brigands
4. a period (the Jewish War of 66 - 72 CE) where the 'polemarch' 'converted' to the religion and effectively took it over/Platonized it.
5. the continued existence of 'rebel Christians' persecuted by Vespasian and his sons (Eusebius) is a vestige of the earlier tradition.
6. the polemarch was responsible for pacifying the religion and identifying Jesus as a God.
