Re: Ehrman's latest book: Forgery and Counterforgery
It is most fascinating that Ehrman still continues to expose the fraud and forgery in Christian writings but still use those very sources as historical evidence for his Jesus. Ehrman has put his whole theory of HJ of Nazareth in jeopardy.
Ehrman is doing precisely what he ought not to have done---to rely on admitted forgeries, false attribution and sources of fiction and implausibilities.
Ehrman has already argued in "FORGED" that many books of the NT are either forgeries or false attribution including gMatthew, gMark, gLuke, gJohn, Acts of the Apostles, Ephesians, 2 Thessalonians, Colossians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, 1 and 2 Peter, James, Jude, and 1st,2nd and 3rd John.
It is most amazing that Ehrman is OPENLY showing that his sources for his argument for HJ are NOT credible.
How in the world can Ehrman be a serious historian?

Some have speculated he is surreptitiously seeking to increase argument about the historicity of Jesus of Nazzie.dewitness wrote: Ehrman has already argued in "FORGED" that many books of the NT are either forgeries or false attribution including gMatthew, gMark, gLuke, gJohn, Acts of the Apostles, Ephesians, 2 Thessalonians, Colossians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, 1 and 2 Peter, James, Jude, and 1st,2nd and 3rd John.

I wonder if monetizing near the end of his career may be a motivator, too.

I'm currently looking at his claims about Salvian of Marseilles, in the 5th century, to see what the facts are. Much source investigation to do first.
All the best,
