I am also curious about the possibility that in the original AoI the crucifixion were two and not only one. Meaning that the author preserved the original crucifixion (specifying where it happened, i.e., at the extreme end of the descent) and adding the earthly crucifixion (knowledge of the first Gospel ?). A subtle evidence in such sense is that some Cathars did talk about two crucifixions of two distinct Sons, in two distinct worlds: the Son of the Good God dies in this world, while the Son of the creator God dies in the world of the Good God.

Assuming, as Norelli does, that the tree near Jerusalem etc (the ''pocket gospel'') is not an interpolation, then the tree of the verse 10:14 would not be the same tree near Jerusalem (even figuring under the same text). We would have the earthly Christ as a mere docetic reflection of the true Christ crucified in heaven. The Cathars would end to hate the first Christ (as son of Demiurge) because of their radical (as well as late) dualism.
