Xmas carols

Post by Clive »

Happy xmas everyone:-)

Just been to a Methodist church, and looking at carols, sang a few.

Fascinating history there, Luther , Wesley , Rossetti ...

Loads of theology based around credal statements, allusions to Blake, classic Victorian artists evident!

Christ is actually very mythological, heavenly based. Word "Jesus " used formally.

My impression is that a mythical Christ is actually the underlying assumption of Christmas:-)
