The context is important because it shows us that people witnessed a similar teaching and claimed resurrection as the cause.

So when gentiles went to Passover and heard Johns and Jesus teachings again after crucifixion, OMG he has been resurrected!!!!!!!

You do know these primitive people had a different concept of the conscious mind???

They literally thought good or bad thoughts were all controlled by good and bad spirits, your mind was not your own, it belonged to the mystical powers that be.

This is a foundational concept that goes with understanding the text they wrote and why.

Yep, Mary of Magdala was healed by Jesus of seven demons or evil spirits. The "seven" were simply a lot of bad habits.
Maybe she didn't wash her hands before she ate or after she went pee pee.
