ARGUMENT FROM LACK OF EVIDENCE History For Atheists

1) There is no evidence that Jesus did not exist.

2) Therefore, Jesus existed.

1. If Jesus did not exist, from the start people would have been lining up to ridicule the religion as being based on nothing.
2. No-one in the first centuries lined up to ridicule christianity for it having been based on nothing.
3. Therefore christianity must have been based on something, which can only have been Jesus.
4. Therefore, Jesus existed.

Spin, that one actually sounds like an argument McGrath and others might have used as a serious argument.

1. Atheists claim Jesus did not exist.
2. Everyone knows that atheists are wrong about everything.
3. Therefore, Jesus existed.

ARGUMENT FROM NON-CHRISTIAN REFERENCES TO JESUS AS HISTORICAL FIGURE History For Atheists

1) Non-Christians reference Jesus as a historical figure.

2) Therefore, Jesus existed.

ARGUMENT FROM THE UNEXPECTED

1) Confucius, Socrates and Isaac Asimov walk into a bar.

2) The Bartender says what the bartender says

3) Therefore, Jesus existed.
