Not sure about the Good Samaritan connection in particular, but it appears that Rashi, commenting on 2 Kings 25.4, wrote as follows:

By way of the gate between the two walls: A cave went from his house until the plains of Jericho, and he fled through the cave. The Holy One, Blessed be He, ordained a deer walking on the roof of the cave. The Chaldeans pursued the deer, and when they reached the entrance of the cave in the plains of Jericho, they saw him and captured him. This is what Ezekiel said [12.13], "And I will spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My net." [Link: http://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo ... rashi=true.

So that is probably the cave near Jericho being talked about.

Thank you. But there seems to be something more - unless I am needlessly searching for specificity:

Ascent of Adummim
The wadi itself is good for travel only for those out for a pleasant day hike. In ancient times, people made their way on the route above. Some of the biblical events which likely occurred on this route include: David’s flight from Absalom (2 Sam 15-16), Zedekiah’s flight from the Babylonians (2 Kgs 25:4), the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), and Jesus’ travels from Jericho to Jerusalem (e.g., Luke 19:28).
As in the case of David, the object of the king was to escape to the east of the Jordan. He and his companions descended, unobserved, by the royal gardens, and down the steep descent to Jericho. There he was overtaken by the Chaldean soldiers, who had received intelligence of his flight from deserters ; and in that wide plain, the scene of the first triumph of Joshua, was fought the last fight of the expiring monarchy. His troops fled, and were scattered to the winds. “Swifter than the eagles of heaven they pursued ”the fugitives down “the mountains” of the pass of Adummim, “and laid wait for him in the wilderness” of the Jordan valley. In him and his royal house the spirit of David held out to the last, and when he was ensnared, like a lion in the hunter's net, the weakness of his character was forgotten in the greatness of his fall, and a long sigh was heaved in remembrance of the opportunity that had still been open to him. https://books.google.com/books?id=6RsZA ... 22&f=false

Ginzberg reports an Adamic quality to Zedekiah:

Zedekiah requested the grace that his execution take place before his children's, and he be spared the sight of their blood. His children, on the other hand, besought Nebuchadnezzar to slay them before he slew their father, that they might be spared the disgrace of seeing their father executed. In his heartlessness Nebuchadnezzar had resolved worse things than Zedekiah anticipated. In the sight of their father, the children of Zedekiah were killed, and then Zedekiah himself was deprived of sight; his eyes were blinded. He had been endowed with eyes of superhuman strength, they were the eyes of Adam, and the iron lances forced into them were powerless to destroy his sight. Vision left him only because of the tears he shed over the fate of his children. Now he realized how true Jeremiah had spoken when he had prophesied his exile to Babylonia. Though he should live there until his death, he would never behold the land with his eyes. On account of its seeming contradictoriness, Zedekiah had thought the prophecy untrue. For this reason he had not heeded Jeremiah's advice to make peace with Nebuchadnezzar. Now it had all been verified; he was carried to Babylonia a captive, yet, blind as he was, he did not see the land of his exile.

The story of Zedekiah disobeying the commandment of God (through Jeremiah) leading to the expulsion from Paradise (= Jerusalem) is Adamic.

The Biblical name Maaleh Adommim (slope of the bloods) is related to the iron oxide with its red colour. An old legend places at Maaleh Adommim the capture of King Zedekiah by the Babylonians. (Compare Zedekiah's Cave).
This http://biblewalks.com/Sites/GoodSamaritanInn.html describes the Good Samaritan Inn.

And why is עֵדֶן transliterated Εδεμ in the LXX? Notice also that the personal name Αδαμ “Adam” is translated from the definitearticle prefixed Hebrew masculine noun האדם = “the human/the man.” A personal name cannot take the definite article. But Eden to Edem is quite unexpected.

Not sure. But compare Midian = מִדְיָן = Μαδιάμ.

And it can work the other way around, too, apparently: Mibsam = מִבְשָׂם = Μαβσαν (1 Chronicles 1.29).

ETA: Homam = הוֹמָם = Αιμαν (1 Chronicles 1.39). Surely some distinguished scholar from the days of yore has written about this m/n phenomenon, but I do not know who.
