Robert Price difficulties

I was looking over some of Acharya S's output, and happened to come across this page, dated 30th January 2014:
Dr. Price needs our help!

UPDATE (1/30/14): Bob Price is struggling again and could really use some assistance!

I see that Bob’s got a funding page here – so far, so good in the past month. That should help!

He's had health difficulties. Looking at the page itself we find this message from Dr Price:
Bible Geek listeners will know that the very brand of Bible scholarship that attracts them to the podcast has long made it impossible for Dr. Price to find any paying employment in professional academia. He and his family are chronically on the edge financially, without medical insurance, and scarcely able to pay monthly bills. Now their very old house is in urgent need of major repairs. Any help will be vastly appreciated. Even the heavenly minded need a roof overhead.
This is very frank, and I had no idea that he was in these kinds of difficulties. I'm sure that there are people here who would like to help.

All the best,

Roger Pearse

I am sorry but I love Robert Price. Truly I do. Always been nice to me. We're all going to have to dig into our pockets and give him some money

I am going to call him up and offer him money to edit my book. What a great idea. That will help.

I don't find his opposition to Obamacare especially relevant, but the existence of Obamacare, since the first of the year, is now relevant. I hope he isn't passing up on Obamacare just because he opposed it. I am already funding his healthcare. He just needs to accept it.

I think that the poor chap deserves a hand, whether we share his politics or religion or not. I daresay we can all afford $10.

I've bought two of his books in the last month, perhaps I should buy a few more so he can get some more royalties. If you haven't read it yet, The Amazing COlossal Apostle is a great read.

I'd contend that the efforts and contributions of the likes of Robert Price and Earl Doherty will be treated very favorably by history in future yet, alas, less favorably than they deserve now.

Plenty of ashes of mythicist literature from one hundred years ago already line then dustbin of history, ready to welcome the ashes of the literature of the many modern mythicists. There has been no progress. The arguments have gotten worse, not better.

Yep. It's incredibly cheap for how much content it has, too. (Speaking as someone who's trying to collect all the $90 tomes of the Copenhagen International Seminar.)
