There decisively more continuity between the Ophites and the Cathars than a continuity between the early Christians and the Ophites.

It is well in evidence the fact that the also for the Cathars 'cursing Jesus' (obviously, the flesh-and-blood Jesus of the Catholic tradition) was a kind of group marker.
