The epistle of James as evidence of pre-christian christianity?

Post by Giuseppe »

The hypothesis seems to be plausible insofar the ''Lord'' who is meant in the epistle is really YHWH named as Jesus.

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming

(James 5:7)

Isn't this the same prediction of John the Baptist (of the Gospels)? That who will come is YHWH himself and not Jesus?

to Giuseppe,
That who will come is YHWH himself and not Jesus?
Definitively God (YHWH) himself, according to the verses which follow 5:7, more so 5:10-11 (where that Lord is the God of the prophets and Job)

Cordially, Bernard
I believe freedom of expression should not be curtailed
