Witulski 2012 argued that the two witnesses in Revelation were Bar-Kokhba and the his high priest.
Papias was a millenarian who apparently knew and perhaps commented on the Revelation of John. Could he have confused the Bar-Kokhba's propaganda with the "saying of the Lord" about the great cluster?
The Talmud reports about a rabbis Papias of Ono who was a contemporary of Bar-Kokhba.
