Is the "abomination of desolation" about the temple at all?

If the episode of the rending of the veil implies that the Jewish god abandoned the temple forever, then that place could be even cast in a bordel, for what concerns god.

Hence, are we sure that the "abomination of desolation" had to show himself just in the temple of Jerusalem as the place where he had not be?
