For me, that would be Queen Salome, by way of Josephus. Josephus hides certain events surrounding Jannaeus against Demetrius Eucerus and later in the mountains (The Great Tribulation) as well as the Purpose of the Priesthood (This from - supposedly - a member of the Mishmarot Group Jehoiarib!).

There is a Link implied between the events surrounding the Capturing of Judea and the remaking of Judea into the Client State under Rome's domination. The Hasmonean Rulers are killed (under Herod) and the Mishmarot Priesthood reacts. The Hasmoneans are the Leading Group and they are assigned membership in Jehoiarib (Immer claims them as well). You wouldn't know this from a cursory reading of Josephus.

Luke 2 has a short set of verses concerning "Anna, the daughter of Phan'u-el, of the tribe of Asher". She is a Prophetess and she is certainly Salome. Josephus never tell us that Jannaeus marries Salome in a Leverite ceremony but for 2000+ she has been known as "Alexandra". Guess what Luke tells us about this "Anna"?

Queen Salome (not Alexandra) and Jannaeus are held in highest esteem by the Priesthood.
You may find your Historical Figures there.

Best,
