And just as a point of reference. On 15 Kislev 168 B.C.E an "abomination" was set up near the altar of burnt offering (cf. Dan 9:27; 11:31; 12:11; 1 Macc. 1:54). This was probably a matzevah, a standing stone. The temple now was dedicated to Zeus Olympios.

Since we know 21 CE was a Jubilee and 20 CE was a forty-ninth year (and likewise 70 CE and 69 CE) another interesting parallel emerges with respect to the events of 1 Maccabees.
