Revelation 11:8: πλατεία (Pilate?)

καὶ τὸ πτῶμα αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τῆς πλατείας τῆς πόλεως τῆς μεγάλης, ἥτις καλεῖται πνευματικῶς Σόδομα καὶ Αἴγυπτος, ὅπου καὶ ὁ Κύριος αὐτῶν ἐσταυρώθη
(Revelation 11:8)
Repeated more and more times,
"the Lord was crucified in the πλατεία of Jerusalem"
...a confusion could rise (easily?) with:
"the Lord was crucified in the Jerusalem of Pilate"
Note that πλατεία has PLT in it.
