Hammurabi:God or man?

Post by rroston »

It appears that the knowledge of certain historical events and dates are vital in aiding one in accurately and rightly understanding a closer meaning regarding the why behind the biblical text. One such date is 1750 B.C. and its event is the invention of the first written system of laws, compiled and enforced by the famed Babylonian emperor, Hammurabi. This event and its date are important to biblical understanding for 3 reasons: 1)because some laws of Moses in the Bible are identical to Hammurabi's; 2)because Hammurabi's law precedes Moses' or Jehovah's by roughly 300 years-Moses' was written in the 1440s B.C.; and 3) because the aforesaid is true, the Mosaic law words in the Bible are not the words of God, but rather the words of the Babylonian emperor, Hammurabi. It is therefore unethical to propagate otherwise. What say ye?
