In the above post at this link I said:

A_Nony_Mouse, yet again you make these outlandlish claims without a scrap of evidence and yes, when you say, "Canaan" is purely a bible fiction name, you have to provide evidence for the claim and you cannot do it. You are just talking your usual anti-Semitic diarrhea. Why don't you mention Idrimi? Or the Amarna letters (eg EA 367)? What about the Merneptah Stele? Considered the Papyrus Anastasi I (See section 20 here)?
These references demonstrate that you are simply wrong in your claim about Canaan, as you seem to be with almost everything else you have claimed.

The oldest known name for the region of bibleland in the real world is Palestine-Syria used by Herodotus in the 5th c. BC. Of course he mentions to Judeans. They are not mentioned in either of his lists of peoples who practice circumcision but his lists show it was a popular rather than unique custom in the region. (It was also the custom of the priests of some goddesses although there are indications the full monty was reserved for the chief priest, that is, in old age.)

If one gives some license to name translations the name Palestine is also found on the Assyrian victory stela from several centuries earlier. It takes less license than used to find mentions of bibleland characters on it but it is far from clear enough to make an issue of Palestine being used as the name.

The New Kingdom was originally expansionist and spread its kingdom from "the river in Egypt to the Euphrates" as is copied in the "promise" to Abraham. Uncreatively promising the existing New Kingdom of Egypt. The point being one would think the Egyptians would have learned and recorded the name of this territory they added to their empire.
The religion of the priests is not the religion of the people.
Priests are just people with skin in the game and an income to lose.
