The mosaic cultic sacrificial language , used by most priests and rabbis, infected the memory of the man Yeshu, the heretic who preaches the ten commandments and repentance as the sure way to god.
In some overwritten versions of the Akedah , a willing Isaac is killed and immediately resuscitated to be used as the salvific foundation of Israel, and those versions stink: And the Lord said, ‘What have you done? Listen; your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!
Humans accept death in desperate situations in the hope of saving the lives of others. War is a case in point and history provides an example in the Spartan heroes of Thermopylae. They were combatants resisting an evil enemy of theirs ,they would rather had killed the enemy and remain alive.
The human sacrifice of the Akedah is an insane command and the one who obeys that command is a deranged enemy of mankind : from their ranks were the Inquisitors recruited, the one who joyfully discharged their duty obeying the will of their insane god.
The Torah says , Isaac did not die. The odd thing is that religious authorities killed Isaac, apparently long before the appearance of Christianity ,
Many, many years ago I asked , Why did they kill Isaac ?
