I can't for the life of me think of how you would translate ἀδιάφορα into Hebrew or Aramaic. Note that Bar Serapion uses the Greek term. Maybe the reason the text became corrupted is that it was preserved by a scribe who didn't know Greek. It would make sense to call Cain 'indifferent' because of "am I my brother's watcher?"

It would be funny is the name is a corruption of adiaphoros - the one name you can't imagine a parent naming one of their kids!
