Whenever the Lexicon comes across a strange word, the usual response is "Probably of foreign origin" and no additional information is given. In regards to the name Nimrod, this means Leopard [נָמֵר] .
In the LXX , Nimrod is Νεβρωδ [ Nebrod ] and this is similar too πάρδος [ Pardos]
-λέων πάρδος > λνπάρδ > Νπάρδ > Νεβρωδ > Νεμρωδ [Nimrod]
In Greek, λέων πάρδος is reversed
- πάρδος λέων > παρδάλεων .
