Elagabalus

Post by Ethan »

Helios & EL are linguistically indistinguishable, the Greek always renders אל as Ἥλ and with vowels, this is ἡλίου.

A real-world example is the name Elagabalus, this name derives from the Semitic Ilāh hag-Gabal and yet
it's written Heliogabalus , thereby equating Ilāh (אלה) with Helios.

The name 'Elagabalus' came from Semitic, therefore the name is writable in Hebrew.

אליגבל

The source-claim as 'Hag' between EL and Gabal, , which seems to be ἅγιος (Agios) , usually translates from קדש ( Qadash) 'holy' , this is an abstract-definition, but the concrete meaning is κηδάζω (Khdazo) 'clean/purified' or ἁγίζω ' make sacred' (by cleansing ) (ἁγίασον).

2 Samuel 11:4 - she was purified (Qadash) from her uncleanness
Exodus 13:2 - Sancify (Qadash) - Gk. ἁγίασόν ( Agiason ).
* Agias > Agdas > Gdas > Qdas (קדש)

Qad- equates with Kata- as in the word καθαρός ( Katharos) "to clean' compare with כָּפַר (kaphar) 'to atone or clean something'
and טָהוֹר (tahowr ) 'to clean'.

גבל
The meaning of the word as to do with 'boundaries', either a mountain, coastline, strait or border, usually
translated as a ὁρία (Oria) 'boundary' or ἐφορία (Eforia) 'bordering' , the gods associated with boundaries
are Melqart, Hercules, Hermes, Elohim and Mercury . The Phoenicians relied on boundary-markers(Jos 4:8) as a means
of orienteering. The term 'Wilderness' is rendered ἐρήμῳ (Erhmon) and literally means "Orient' "to take one's bearings"
from where we get Orienteering and from ἐρημία we get Arabia . "μ=B" , Hormuz and Mount Hermon (Deu 3:8).

גבל
often translated Byblos , then shouldn't the Hebrew be בבל , often ע is a G or L is R
* גבל- בבל - עבל - עבר

ἀφορίζω "mark off by boundaries"
> Ephoria (g)eboria > (g)ebolia > גבל- בבל - עבל - עבר
> Africa ἀφορί-γοί

Spain & Georgia(Black Sea ) where both named 'IBERIA' (ἐφορία ) since these places marked the Western and Eastern boundaries and
poetically became the Pillars of Hercules. * This is why Iberia resembles ' Hebrew ' .

The word 'ἀφοριεῖς in Exodus 29:6, is a translation of Nuwph (נוּף) and ἀφόρισμα (Aforisma) of Tenuwphah (תְּנוּפָה)
meaning 'Wave-offering' , Must have being an offering too the God of Boundaries.

נוּף is similar too נֹף which is usually reads as Μέμφεως ( Memphis) from naphah (נָפָה) "Lofty-place' , which is also translated as a boundary-marker and thus synonym with ἀφορίζω

* Everywhere is a boundary

Elagabalus is the "God of Boundaries " i.e. Hermes, Melqart, Hercules, Elohim or Mercury.

Hebrew & Greek are so similar that names ending with EL can be treated as a Greek name and retain it's Hebraic meaning.

Emmanuel
μέθ ἡμῶν ὁ̂ ἡλίου" Helios with Us

Abiel
ἥβῃ ἡλίου "Youth dedicated too Helios

Samuel
σμάω ἡλίου "Shining Helios

Ezekiel
ἀζηχής ἡλίου "Strong Helios

Ishmael
ὀσμῇ ἡλίου "sweet-smell of Helios"

Abdeel / Abdul
ὀπαδοῦ ἡλίου "servitude to Helios"

Raphael
θεραπεία ἡλίου ""servitude to Helios"

Gabriel
κυρίου ἡλίου "Mighty Helios

So the cult of Helios was quite popular throughout the Middle-East, ὁ̂ ἡλίου ( Allah) .
